Guten Touch: Multitouch Barcelona

This is quite simply my favorite video of 2009 (even though its from 2008).  It’s not overly stylized and the music is on point.  It’s both emotional and exciting.  I absolutely love it.

The convergence of technology and the human experience is evolving so rapidly its almost impossible to keep up with – and the advent of multi-touch is no different.  At this point we’ve all played with, owned, or pined for an iPhone.  It has fundamentally changed the way we communicate and intereact with people and information.  We now know how intuitive things are when you reach out and touch them with your fingers.

There are people working tirelessly to bring these technologies to the market in meaningful ways.  I can’t wait to see more of this in my everday life.

The next decade is going to be a damn exciting one…

Ted

(Thanks to Kayne West and his blog for finding this gem.)

(Sidenote: cheers to Red Bull for continuing to redefine what a brand can represent.  Their core product is a drink that loads you up with energy, yet the brand represents empowerment, innovation, and pushing .  Not to mention hell raising double backflips on motorcycles.)

TomTom for iPhone - Available Now for $99

At long last, TomTom for the iPhone. For some reason I was under the impression that you could only use this application with the new iPhone 3GS. At $99 this is a very expensive app, but one that pays itself off the first time you get yourself out of a sticky driving situation.

Not sure how much the dock is going to cost - will update once I find out.

Yahoo's Re-Branding Begins With Slick Video

I really like this video for a variety of reasons. The first is that we finally see a bit of behind the scenes action from Yahoo! - this is the type of video we're used to from trendier companies right now (I'll link up Zynga's new video in a later post). I also like that they are in a challenger position - it's always exciting to see someone willing to put up a fight. Lastly, the cowboy hat at the end killed me.

I wish Yahoo! all the luck in the world. More competition will only make our web-searching experience better!

15 Years of Yahoo Home Pages, 1994-2009

Its amazing to think back on how different the internet was 15 years ago. My family was a little late to the game (we never had Prodigy or whatever those early ISPs were called) - but I'll never forget booting up the Compaq Presario and logging into America Online.

The next 15 years will, without question, be equally as transformational.

Ted's got a new gadget...

Ahhhhhhhh....

At long last. A PureDigital Mino HD. High-definition video in the palm of my hand.

Will its technology become obsolete in the next year? Probably. Will Apple start launching HD-capable iPhones and iPods soon? Probably. Do I care? Not in the least.

What's great about these little light-as-air beauties is that they are smaller than a cell phone, almost too easy to use, and priced to make
everyone an amateur videographer.

It's first test is going to be Team Elevate's 100-mile ride in San Jose this weekend. More to come...
