Why Alberto Contador lost the Tour de France today when he went rogue
via everymantri.com
Being on the road has kept me a little bit out of the loop when it comes to the Tour de France. I had heard that Contador gained some time within the GC and surpassed Armstrong, but I didn't realize it was in what many are calling "rogue" fashion. One thing that casual fans of cycling don't understand is that the Tour is one of the most intensive TEAM sports out there. You certainly can't expect to be the leader of a team when not following the orders of your manager.
I now fully expect Lance to slowly come back to lead Astana. I’m not sure if he'll be able to hold off the field, but my guess is that he's winning guys over in the team bus.
